We are seeking an entry-level IT Service Desk Technician for our corporate office located in Yaphank, NY. IT Service Desk Technician: Candidates must have an A.S. or B.S. in computer science, or related IT discipline with 0-4 years of experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding of concepts related to networks, servers, PCs, mobile devices, etc.
  • Troubleshoot end-user issues: Handle Tier I level tickets and service requests relating to server/network-related issues. Provide root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain hardware and peripherals: Responsible for upgrading and replacing computer parts; handle documentation and asset inventory.
  • Meet and exceed SLA standards: Close tickets in a timely manner while upholding customer service standards.
  • The ideal candidate for this job is able to assist with user account management by handling onboarding, change, and departure processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • 1+ years of experience supporting desktop/server operating systems.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving
  • Foundational knowledge in ADUC – Active Directory Users & Computers a plus.
  • This position is best filled with someone with superior customer service skills and technical aptitude.
  • Adept at analyzing complex business problems, proposing effective solutions and understanding and applying business vision and direction

The appropriate candidates will possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Must be flexible, willing to work overtime, and occasional overnight travel. Company vehicles are provided for job travel. OSHA 40-hour Health & Safety training at Hazardous Waste sites as well as appropriate 8-hour refreshers a plus.

Qualifications needed to perform this role:

  • CompTIA A+ and/or Microsoft certification is desirable.
  • Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license for travel between remote locations.
